HOW FINGERS AND THUMBS LIMITED WILL BE HANDLING YOUR DATA TO COMPLY WITH THE NEW GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR).
I/we/us means Fingers and Thumbs Massage Limited (a company registered in England No. 12572620) as well as any sub-contracted massage therapists engaged by Fingers and Thumbs Massage Limited to provide massage services to our clients.
New Data Protection Legislation is coming in to force in the UK on 25th May 2018. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is EU wide legislation, and is currently being enacted into UK law and will become the 2018 Data Protection Act. This legislation will affect every business that handles personal data for clients, customers or staff. Personal data has been defined by the act as ‘any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified’.
The personal data we collect will include information relating to your name, address, date of birth, and wider contact details. We will also if appropriate collect data relating to any treatments and services which we provide to you which may include information about any relevant health, disabilities or lifestyle issues.
We will not share your personal data with any third parties, unless you specifically authorise me to do so.
We will only use your personal data for the following purposes:
- Primarily, to enable us to provide safe and effective professional services.
- To communicate with you, for example to confirm appointments or to check on your wellbeing. This communication will normally be via telephone, SMS, email or similar method.
- From time to time, and only in the event that you give us your express permission, we may also use your personal data to send you information which we believe may be of interest or benefit to you, including tips and advice as well as details of services, recommendations and events. You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time.
We will retain your personal data for 7 years following your last treatment or the end of our professional relationship together. This is a legal requirement of my professional insurance.
